Baked oats have been a nemesis of mine for quite some time. I am not the biggest fan of porridge so it seemed the perfect way for me to get oats into my diet of a morning, but every recipe I have tried is either too stodgy or incredibly bland. When Buy Whole Foods Online asked if I would like to review some of their products I thought I’d give them one last go, and I am so glad I did!
Buy Whole Foods Online are a family run business selling international organic healthy and whole foods from their warehouse in Kent. Each product explains exactly where it came from and they have some really interesting products that I have struggled to find elsewhere. Beetroot powder, agar agar and coconut butter are just a few of the random ingredients I have found on their site that I have not seen anywhere else.

My baked oats recipe is a little more general in terms of ingredients but the Buy Whole Foods Online ingredients I used are of great quality and reasonably priced. I would recommend grabbing some if you fancy giving this a try and I’ll be stocking up once I have ran out! So here it is, my new favourite breakfast.
Pineapple and Macadamia Baked Oats – Serves 1

150 grams of pineapple cut into small cubes
1 tablespoon of sugar

1 tablespoon macadamia nuts, finely chopped
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
Spray coconut oil
Method
Preheat your oven to 200 c.
Put the pineapple, sugar and cinnamon in a small saucepan and simmer on a low heat until it is nice and golden. It should take around 5 minutes.
Spray an individual ramekin with the coconut oil to grease.
Put the pineapple in the bottom and make sure it is spread evenly.
Put all the other ingredients into a mixing bowl and whisk until combined.
Bake in the oven for 45 minutes until set and golden on the top. A skewer inserted in the middle should come out clean.
Eat and enjoy!
