Dining out as much as I do, I really have to watch what I eat for the rest of the week. The problem with this is, I am really bad at planning. The amount of times I have a night in and there is literally nothing to make a meal out of in my fridge, which usually ends in me ordering something less than healthy from the takeaway. Love Yourself kindly got in touch and offered to let me try some of their prepared meals, and they were such an interesting idea that I couldn’t say no.

Love Yourself are freshly prepared meals that can support your health goals. Ingredients are fresh and ethically sourced, before being delivered direct to your door. They provide a full meal plan for the day, including snacks, so you can guarantee you know exactly what calories, carbohydrates and proteins you are consuming.
There is a wide range of diet plan options available, from sports performance to gluten free, low calorie to dairy free. I chose to try the keto option and I received breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as a snack. Each meal is pre-packaged with heating instructions, if necessary. The weekend before my were delivered I was emailed with the menu, which I think is a really nice touch. The macros for my meals is all online so you can check the diet plan is what you are looking for to achieve your personal eating goals. I say this because I know what keto means to me, but it might be different to other people, and I think this is the same for most eating plans.

Breakfast was two of these coconut and cinnamon muffins. I found them a little dry for my taste and one was more than enough. I do think they are something you would have to get used to but then a keto diet is not something I follow on a daily basis.
Lunch was pork shoulder with cauliflower and cheese sauce. There was just no way to make this look pretty but it was absolutely delicious. Pork can be so fatty but this was soft and lean with a creamy cauliflower cheese sauce. I really enjoyed it.

I forgot how filling a keto diet is and I really didn’t need to have the snack provided, but I tried the plant protein smoothie. The almond butter gives this a creaminess to make up for the lack of sugar or sweetener. It wasn’t sweet enough for my ridiculous sweet tooth but the beauty of a drink like this is that you can drink it quicker than you would eat it, if that makes sense!

Tea was an egg and spinach omelette, which I wasn’t expecting big things from. I have tried to make omelettes in advance before myself, and they always end up with a soggy bottom and just generally having a weird ‘wet’ taste that I don’t enjoy. I was totally not expecting this rich and creamy omelette with a little crunch from the addition of flaked almonds. It was really tasty and I’ve been trying to recreate it ever since, to no avail.
Overall, I really enjoyed my meals for the day and I especially loved not having to think about what I needed to make or prepare for the day ahead. All that was taken care of without me having to think about making sure it was healthy. If you follow a particular food or diet plan, it is well worth giving Love Yourself a go.
