Going to the supermarket has never been as difficult as it is right now. I am one of those people who would usually go daily for that day’s shopping. I am not a forward planner when it comes to food but I have been forced into it now with the queues and the lack of available delivery slots. Meals have been pretty simple but I have started to fill my freezer and be a little more creative than I would normally be, otherwise I would get even more bored than I already am! Heck have you covered with some new additions to their already great selection of meat and vegetarian packed products.

It would be really easy to put some of their burgers under the grill and serve with some chips and salad, and don’t worry I have done just that more than once. I thought I would get a little bit more experimental. Their 97% chorizo style sausages are lighter in flavour than regular chorizo yet still with that iconic paprika flavour, so I mixed them into some noodles and served with soy and ginger salmon. The recipe is below –
Serves 2
Ingredients
2 Salmon Fillets
5 Tablespoons of Soy Sauce
1 Red Chilli, de-seeded
2 cm Ginger, peeled and sliced thinly
1 Tablespoon Sesame Oil
2 Nests of Noodles
Half a head of Broccoli, cut into small pieces
3 Heck 97% Chorizo Style Sausages
Method
Mix the soy sauce, red chilli, ginger and sesame oil in a bowl until combined. Place in the salmon fillets, cover and put in the fridge to marinate. Leave for 1 hour but turn half way through.
Heat a large frying pan and cook the salmon skin down first to get that crispy effect.
Cook the noodles to the packet instructions. You could also use ‘straight to wok’ noodles if you want to cut a few minutes.
Skin the sausages and crumble the meat.
Heat a wok to a high heat and fry the sausage meat. Add the broccoli and cook until soft. Once it is cooked through, add the cooked noodles and toss. You shouldn’t need any extra oil as the sausage meat should coat the noodles but do add a little if needed.
Serve the noodles on a plate with the salmon placed on top.
Easy!
You can order your own selection of Heck food packs on the Heck website. I’d recommend giving their Super Green sausages a go as well. Despite being a vegan sausage, they are hearty and filling whilst being full of flavour. A lovely alternative to meat.
