The Baltic Triangle in Liverpool reminds me so much of Ancoats in Manchester. With the industrial buildings and a creative heart, you’ll find independents taking up residence in the warehouses for a real hipster vibe. It is a short jump on a train from Manchester but if you are travelling from further afield or fancy staying over, there are plenty of lovely hotels in Liverpool to look at. Let’s get into the Baltic Triangle!

Start the day with coffee and breakfast at Baltic Bakehouse but make sure you get there early as rumour has it, they make the best bread in the city meaning it sells out FAST. I was craving one of their filled doughnuts and by 1pm, they had sold out. It’s a rustic type of place with a friendly vibe so worth setting up camp with your laptop and getting some work done.

It is always 5pm somewhere so cocktails are a must and we enjoyed Skaus. It has a Skandi vibe and an industrial feel with green plastic chairs and metal shutters entrance. We had booked lunch elsewhere so had a couple of cocktails, and they were pretty good! Lots of salt on the margarita rim always helps in my opinion.

The Baltic Social was our lunch stop for their newest creation – Bottomless. Sunday. Roast. Not just bottomless drinks but bottomless food, I kid you not. For 2 glorious hours you can enjoy a meat, vegetarian or vegan Sunday roast with all the trimmings, accompanied by either prosecco or beer. Your roast is served and then if you fancy extras, they’ll bring them over to you. More meat? More cauliflower cheese? You got it! I love that they don’t just serve another full roast, although if you wanted it then that’s fine. It is highly unlikely that you will have room but the dessert menu looks pretty epic too.
The atmosphere has a real community feel to it and the band playing made the 2 hours fly by. So much so that I bought an extra glass of fizz so we could enjoy them for longer. It’s a must when in Liverpool and I can’t wait to go back.

Across the road you will find the Baltic Market with lots of food vendors to try, if you have any room after that roast of course. I didn’t so tried a Clover Club from the gin bar and listened to the DJ knocking out some 90s classics. It is the same concept at Mackie Mayor in Manchester but on a bigger, more relaxed scale.
Also on this side you will find Black Pearl,Now I am not a fan of the Peaky Blinders bar in Manchester but the theme is a little looser at the Liverpool site and like Baltic Market, feels more relaxed. My only complaint is that they don’t have a drinks menu which, I personally find a bit odd. I can understand a bar not wanting to do cocktails but it is a little easier to know what a bar stocks when there is a menu to look at and a little less awkward if on a budget. It was nice though and had a thoroughly enjoyable time.
With full bellies and slightly fuzzy heads (that may have just been me) we headed for our train and vowed to return to Liverpool very soon, even if it is just for that roast.
